2020 was our first year to grow parsnips here at 9,000 ft. As with most root vegetables, they did very well here. Gladiator F1 (110 Days) parsnip seeds were sown in the ground May 15, and harvested October 24, 181 days after direct seeding.
I had tried growing parsnips at our previous location (5200 ft and much warmer), but they did not do nearly as well there as in this cooler climate.
These parsnips sustained some damage from the pack rats chewing off their tops, but they survived, and most seeds planted were harvested as shown above.
I already have a spot picked out to plant more of these next year!
